SAFETY GUIDELINES

INJURY DISCLAIMER

FIRST OF ALL IT IS IMPORTANT THAT ALL PLAYERS READ THE OFFICIAL IQA RULE BOOK!!

The physical contact rules contained within the rulebook allow for rough play and were originally designed for people ages 18-22. Any individual or group may tailor the rules for local play as they see fit, or depending on the rules and regulations of their town or institution.

Liability Release: All players are responsible for their own actions. They should be aware that even properly performed physical contact (such as a tackle) can result in injury. The writers of this rulebook and the directors of the association are not responsible for any injury that a player might sustain during play, and players should enter the game with the knowledge that they could be injured. All players should use common-sense during a game and avoid plays that are particularly dangerous. Players are encouraged to follow physical contact rules strictly, to wear proper safety gear, and have person(s) trained in first aid or a first aid kit, on hand during a game (as we will).

A downloadable copy of the OCYQ (Orange County Youth Quidditch) injury waiver will be made available after our first meeting.
